Stop standing water, washed-out driveways, and soggy foundations for good. We install heavy-duty driveway culverts, French drains, buried downspout lines, and drainage swales across Central North Carolina.

North Carolina clay soil absorbs water slowly, turning heavy summer thunderstorms into sheet flow that erodes driveways, floods crawlspaces, and undermines deck footings. We build permanent gravity-fed drainage systems.

Digging out rusted galvanized culverts and crushed corrugated pipes, re-establishing ditch grade, and installing new heavy-wall pipe.
Read SpecificationsWater damage rarely happens overnight. Look for these warning signs around your property in Sanford, Wake Forest, Raleigh, or Pinehurst:
Common Warning Signs: (1) Mulch and gravel washing out of beds after every storm; (2) Standing water lingering more than 24 hours in lawn low spots or beneath your deck; (3) Damp crawlspace walls, musty odors, or soil pulling away from deck footings; and (4) Sinkholes forming over an older metal driveway culvert.
Key Cost Drivers: Total linear footage of pipe, pipe diameter (4-inch PVC up to 18-inch+ culvert), trench depth, catch basin count, and stone bedding tonnage.
A driveway culvert has to carry ditch water freely underneath while supporting the axle weight of garbage trucks, delivery vans, and trailers above. When a culvert is set too shallow or backfilled with loose dirt instead of compacted stone, the pipe ovals or crushes and the driveway sinks.
We excavate the ditch bed to match the natural flow line, lay a compacted cradle of #57 or ABC stone, install heavy dual-wall corrugated HDPE (N-12) or reinforced pipe, compact stone in lifts around the haunches and over the crown, and armor both inlet and outlet ends with rip-rap stone.
When groundwater seeps out of a clay hillside and keeps your lawn or under-deck area spongy for days after a rain, a surface grate alone will not dry the soil. A true French drain intercepts water below the sod line before it surfaces.
We dig a pitched trench across the seepage zone, line the entire trench with non-woven geotextile filter fabric so red clay fines cannot plug the stone, lay rigid perforated pipe holes-down on a bed of washed #57 drainage stone, fill the trench with clean stone, wrap the fabric over the top, and pipe the collected water to daylight.
One inch of rain on a 2,500-square-foot roof sheds more than 1,500 gallons of water. If your gutter downspouts dump onto plastic splash blocks right beside your house or deck ledger, that water goes straight against your foundation and pier footings.
We tie each downspout into a cleanout adapter and run solid, glue-jointed smooth-wall PVC pipe underground at a steady downhill pitch all the way to a wooded natural area, roadside ditch, or stone-armored daylight outlet well away from your home.
During torrential Carolina cloudbursts, sheet water pouring off an uphill lot can overwhelm small pipes. A properly graded diversion swale uses gravity and wide, shallow earth contours to steer heavy surface flow around your house, pool, or deck.
We shape broad, mowable grass swales or decorative river-rock dry creek beds that blend naturally into your landscape while moving high volumes of stormwater safely to the back of your property.
Flat courtyard areas, driveway aprons, and enclosed low spots between a deck and a patio often trap surface water with nowhere to flow. We set heavy-duty catch basins at the exact low points of the grade, complete with sediment sumps that catch leaves and grit before water enters the solid discharge pipe.
Each catch basin is connected via rigid smooth-wall pipe to a lower-elevation daylight outlet so storm puddles drain away in minutes rather than breeding mosquitoes.
Older corrugated metal culverts across Central North Carolina eventually rust through along the bottom, allowing water to wash away the gravel base beneath your driveway until a wheel drops into a cavity. Likewise, shallow black flex pipes installed by builders routinely get crushed or clogged with roots.
We excavate and haul off failed metal or flex pipes, clean out silted ditches so water flows freely again, and install permanent heavy-wall replacement pipe and compacted aggregate driveway surfacing.
Water always follows gravity. We design every culvert, French drain, and downspout line around continuous fall and clean stone filtration.
